The Randy Baugh Band

Laura  •  George  •  Randy  •  Paul  •  Slade

RANDY BAUGH

Until recently, Randy thought of his songwriting much the same way he thought of his other favorite pastime, which is surfing - both wonderful hobbies that provide opportunities to get together with friends to play, to reflect, to grab hold of the best of life. But after being persuaded by a few friends to play open mic nights about three years ago, various other musicians in the audiences convinced him to take his singing, songwriting and finger picking talent more seriously and get out and perform. Since then he has formed a band, produced two CDs, and is drawing larger and larger crowds to his shows.

SLADE GINKINS

Creativity is never lacking in Slade's life. He is an accomplished carpenter and designer, many of his imaginative paintings adorn the walls of his family and friend's homes, and since his teen years he has played percussion and guitar and written songs and poetry. About a year ago Slade teamed up with Randy to provide the rhythm for his music. His touch on the drums is unique and stylistically just what Baugh's music calls for.

GEORGE GINKINS

George was playing rhythm guitar in a blues band in his home town of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, when he got the call from Randy who asked him to pull up stakes, move to the Seattle area and play bass for him. So he did, just like that. Though guitar is his primary instrument, he slides and thumps out original rifts as easily on his fretless bass as he would a blues riff on his guitar. Undoubtedly, George's natural musical talent derives from growing up tapping his foot to the boogie woogie shuffle his mom played on the piano and listening to the inspiring, original tunes his three older siblings wrote and sang.

LAURA CHEVALIER

Rounding out the unique sound of The Randy Baugh Band is Laura Chevalier. At tasteful and eclectic intervals, Laura sprinkles in flute, piano, clavinet, and percussion. Laura Chevalier began musical studies as a child and developed a deep affinity for music at a young age. She has consistently kept music in her curriculum and in her life and loves to play whatever and whenever she can. "Everyone has a passion," she says. "I'm just lucky to know what mine is. It would be an honor to know that I could help someone find his or hers.

PAUL BARBER

Paul is the newest member of the band, and his addition has taken the music to another level. While having his degree in jazz guitar, Paul rips in all genres. When Laura is playing her flute or electronophone or accordion, Paul may jump in on the keyboards, and he’s added violin to the mix. He’s one of these guys who can play every instrument. Paul also teaches high school - and, oh yeah, like his playing, he teaches just about every subject.
